How can I prepare for a cosmetic treatment?

Your surgeon will give you specific instructions about how to best prepare for the surgery. He or she will also advice you on what to eat and drink, about smoking, and about taking or avoiding certain vitamins or medicaments. It's important that you follow the surgeon's instructions carefully, as this will ease the course of the surgery.

While you prepare for the surgery, you should make sure to arrange for someone to drive you home afterwards, and possibly for someone to care for you throughout the couple of days. It's advisable that at least one person, close to you, know that you're having the surgery, so you have someone to speak to about the experience, as well as the worries and excitement. Even though you've chosen to have the surgery yourself, it's still quite a challenging experience, both physically and mentally.
